Some background information gathered from American Wooden Planes by Pollack: Charles Reed was listed as a planemaker in Utica, NY, boarding with, and working for, John Reed from 1837-38. He was producing planes on his own from 1843-44 on Cornelia St., from 1849-50 at Washington St., and continued to be listed until 1855. Rarity Rating = ** Rare
