Wooden Molding Plane – Hollow - 1 ¼” - OHIO TOOL CO. COLUMBUS.

On offer here is a vintage wooden molding plane in hollow form (which renders a ‘round’ profile). In good used condition. Iron could use a sharpening.

Some background information gathered from American Wooden Planes by Pollack: Ohio Tool Co was a major plane manufacturing company in the 19th C and early 20th C. and was incorporated in 1851, but there may have been some manner of operation as early as 1823. It merged with the Auburn Tool Co in 1893 (the particular form of the mark to this plane on offer predated the merger). Business continued under the Ohio Tool Co name, with various mark forms, until operations ceased in 1920.
