Vintage Sargent No. 414 Jack Plane

Has features of a Sargent series 400 Type 6 (1942-50) hand plane, in excellent used condition with all parts functioning as designed. The tote and knob are in good condition, no cracks, attaches snuggly to the body. Plane has been disassembled and subjected to light cleaning with some blemishes and scratches on the body, frog and blade assembly.

Plane body is 14" long x 2 5/8" wide with 'Made in USA' marking just behind the knob (comparable to a Stanley No. 5). Lever cap with 'Sargent' casted in recess Frog with 409 engraving, has 2-piece yoke, lateral adjuster having bent type disc and folded finger end Plated steel adjuster, 1 1/4 inch and hardwood knob and tote with plated steel bolt/nuts fit snuggly to the base 'SARGENT NO. 414 New Haven CT USA' etched into 7 1/4 iron

Makes for an excellent user or collector hand plane.
