Up for sale is a vintage SAMSON brand slick chisel, made by Union Hardware Company of Torrington, Connecticut. This is a 1 inch wide slick, an older pattern favored by timber framers and patternmakers for controlled paring and smoothing. Details: Maker: SAMSON (Union Hardware Co.) Width: 1 inch Style: Slick chisel Handle: Original wooden handle Construction: Solid vintage high-carbon steel Condition: This chisel is in good vintage condition. It shows honest age, patina, and light surface rust from decades of use and storage. The stamp is still visible. The handle appears original and solid. No cracks or breaks observed. The cutting edge will need sharpening before use. Please review photos carefully as they are part of the description. Notes: This is a quality American-made edge tool from the early to mid-1900s. Samson chisels are well regarded for their steel and durability. Great candidate for restoration or continued shop use. Sold as shown.

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
