Vintage Restored Millers Falls 771A 12 Inch Bit Brace

This is a Millers Falls bit brace with a Lions Chuck will ball bearings in the chuck and head for smooth operation. The rachet operates smoothly in both directions and the head spins like a top. With the universal jaws, it works with both tapered square shank bits and modern round shank drill bits. The 12" throw there is lots of torque to be able to easily bore holes large and small.

I've already taken it apart, cleaned off the rust and old grease, and oiled everything back up. The screw securing the chuck outer and inner shells has been replaced, along with the ball bearings, since the original screw and bearings were missing. I've also cleaned off the original varnish that was chipping off and finished with BLO and some homemade paste wax.

It works great now, but I have too many braces and need to clear out a couple.
