Up for sale are 3 nice old chisels. All have seen heavy use. 2 are made by S.J. Addis(1840-1871). The 3rd. one was made by L & I. J. White Company(1850-1890). Three really nice chisels from two of the premier tools makers of the 19th century. Addis was out of London, England and was one of the best revered edge tool maker in the world at that time. L & I.J. White (Leonard and Ichabod Jewett White) .They start up in 1837, originally in Monroe, Michigan, then shift operations to Buffalo, New York in the early 1840s. These chisels have seen some use and a couple are ready for retirement, all could still be used. You just can't beat the quality of these chisels

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
