This plane did not work when I got it. I thought the teeth were worn off the lever that engages the blade, so I changed it. It still did not work. To make it work properly I had to shim the pin up, so it did not sit down in the groove as far. It’s shimmed with two pieces of finish nail. You can not see the shims and they are held in place with the pin itself. . This is a fairly early Union and fairly hard plane to find, so this was worth saving. It will work well as a user or a great addition to a Union collection. . (My #139-082923-1)
