Original Stanley No. 71½ router plane, Type 5, made in the USA. This is the smaller “half” version of the classic Stanley 71, ideal for fine joinery, dados, and hinge mortises. The plane retains its original ½ inch cutter, which is the most common and practical size for this model. Cast body is clean and solid with crisp lettering. Nickel-plated hardware shows honest age and wear. Both Beech wood knobs have some nicely installed cracks in them and appear original and are intact, these age cracks are typical of these planes. Cutter shank and depth adjuster function smoothly. No cracks or repairs to the casting. This is a solid, usable example that would clean up nicely or fit right into a Stanley collection. Please review all photos for condition details. Shipped carefully and packed well

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet.
