Stanley #6 Type 13 Plane Smooth Bottom Sharp Tuned

Up for sale is a nice Stanley #6 type 13 hand plane. This one has the smooth bottom. The Japanning was very spotty, so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's original factory recipe and baked it 5 times, it looks great. I have flattened the sole and sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The tote and knob show their original patina and are crack free.

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
