Stanley #6 Type 13 Hand Plane Corrugated Sole Q Logo on Iron

Up for sale is a nice Stanley #6 type 13 hand plane. This plane has the one patent date behind the frog and no raised ring for front knob. This plane is in great shape with no cracks anywhere. The tote has had the horn cut back as you will see on a lot of these old planes. The iron has the Q logo from an earlier model. The front knob is also from a more recent model. The bed has been stripped of the old Japanning and painted with 5 coats of Ford low gloss engine paint. I think it looks great. This plane has the corrugated sole. The sole is in great shape and the mouth is good, no cracks or major scratches.

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
