Up for sale is an outstanding Stanley #6 type 11 hand plane. I say it's an early type 6 because it has the T logo iron, the low front knob, and the brass barrel nut on the bolts. This one has the corrugated sole, which is preferred by many woodworkers because of the lower friction on the planeing surface. The sole is flat and without any pitting or major marks. I have re-Japanned the bed using Stanley factory recipe of baking it and adding two coats of brushed on Japanning and I bake it 5 times to set the Japanning. I looks great and is hard as a rock.I have also sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The rosewood tote and knob show their original patina. The tote is crack free with a ding on one side. The knob has a hairline crack the is hard to see without a magnifing glass. All in all a great type 11 ready to go to work in your shop or display with your collection.
