Up for sale is a nice Stanley #5 Type 9 hand plane. This one has a smooth sole and it is flat. The Japanning was pretty spotty so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's original factory recipe and baked it five times on low heat. I have also sharppened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The iron has a nice Q logo on it. The rosewood tote and knob show their original patina. The knob in great shape with no cracks. The tote has a nicely repaired crack you would not see if I had not mentioned it. Solid plane ready to go the work or add to your collection.
