Stanley #5 Type 16 Plane Corrugated sole Last Type Rosewood Sharp Tuned

Up for sale is a nice Stanley #5 type 16 hand plane. This one has the corrugated bottom. I have sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. It has the BB logo on the iron. This is the last type with rosewood tote and knob. Also first type with kidney shaped hole in the lever cap. I would put the Japanning at 98%+ . The tote has had the horn knock off and the knob has a very little chip out on the base, look at last picture. All in all a really nice plane.

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
