Up for sale is a super nice Stanley #5 type 11 hand plane. This one has the corrugated sole . It has the 3 patent dates behind the frog and the small brass adj. nut. It has the V logo on the iron. The Japanning was very spotty on it so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's original factory recipe and baked it on low heat 5 times. I have sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000, The sole is flat. The dark rosewood tote and knob show original patina. The knob is crack free and I can't find a mark on it. The tote has a nicely repaired crack and it is strong.
