Stanley Bailey No 5 jack plane. A type 16 made in Q2 1938 by the stamp on the iron. A pretty and solid user from the heyday of Stanley's plane making. Body has been repainted. Rosewood knob and tote are both gorgeous. It came to me neglected but its ready for many mores years of good work. Flat and sharp.
See the pictures. The two dark stripes on the tote are natural, but there was a hairline break that I re-glued - with T-88 epoxy - that is all but invisible now. The sole is very flat but you can see traces of light pitting. It has no functional impact. I still wanted it to look like an 87+ year old tool.
Happy to answer questions.

Long time hobby woodworker. Most of that has been as a power tool user but in the last several years I've taken up hand tools and love it. Also found that I really like putting old iron back into service.
