Stanley Bailey No 5 corrugated bottom jack plane. Iron is stamped "440" which is Q4 of 1940. Type 17 with hardwood knob and tote. It does have the frog adjustment screw - which is missing on some Type 17's. The lever is from the earlier SW era - keyhole screw opening instead of the kidney shaped one. Cleaned and sharp. I redid the finish on the knob and tote - no cracks or repairs. I did not flatten the bottom because it didn't need it.
See the pictures. Great condition overall. Japanning is all there except right at the toe and heel. Nickel is gone off the front of the lever cap.

Long time hobby woodworker. Most of that has been as a power tool user but in the last several years I've taken up hand tools and love it. Also found that I really like putting old iron back into service.
