Details
Up for sale is an outstanding Stanley #4 type 8 hand plane. This one has the smooth sole. It has the B casting marks on the bed, the frog and the back of the lever capl. I has the one pat. date on the lateral adj. lever. The Japanning was very spotty on it so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's factory recipe and baked it at low heat 5 times. I have sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The rosewood tote and knob are in great shape and show their original patina. They have no cracks or major marks or chips.
