Up for sale is a really nice Stanley #4 type 8(1899-1902) hand plane. This one has a corrugated sole and it is flat. I have cleaned up the sides and re-Japanned the bed. I have sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The rosewood tote and knob are in great shape and show their original patina. I did a repair on the tote by cutting out an old crack and splicing in a piece of rosewood I got from an old 45 fence. It was repaired using epoxy and won't break at the repair. I think the repair looks good, blends in really good.

(1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
