Up for sale is a outstanding Stanley #3 type 17 hand plane. This one has a smooth sole. The Japanning is 99%+ so I didn't mess with it. I have lapped the sole and it is flat. I sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. I also cleaned up the sides. I scrapped the peeling varnish off the knob and tote and stained them with my tote stain. and they look good and are crack free. This plane is ready to go to work in your shop.
