Up for sale is a super nice Stanley #3 type 11 hand plane. I believe this is an early model of the type 11 as it has the low knob and the barrel shaped brass nut. The Japanning was very spotty so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's factory recipe and baked it on low heat 5 times to set the Japanning. I have also flattened the sole and cleaned up the sides. I sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The rosewood tote and knob show their original patina. The tote is in great shape with no cracks and no major marks or chips . The know has no cracks but does have a very small chip at the base.
