Very nice Sargent Type 5 (Look at the photos to make sure I am correct, I may not be) smoothing plane (near Stanley #3 size) made from 1942-1950.
This was one of my "keepers" but I think it's time to start clearing out more of my tools for someone else to enjoy.

Selling since November 2024
Retired Archaeologist now working for city of Lexington Engineering Dept. Have been a carpenter and woodworking for some time, just switched over to hand tools several years ago. But now my health has changed, I have no kids and if Gods will, will be retiring and moving to Philippines in the next 5 Years. So I am slowly selling off tools (and other things) that I know I will not be hauling across the world. When the time comes, I may sell off more, but for now all my extras or things I bought to resale need to go....Heck I may just sell it all and not touch a tool again depending on my health in 5 years....
