Details
Sargent 95 saw sharping vise. Vise length is about 9 inches and it sits about 10 inches above the clamp down point. Has an adjustable ball joint that allows you tilt the saw for crosscut sharpening. It also allows you to rotate the saw 180 degrees to work from the other side without unmounting the saw. Early 1900's - that model appears in the 1911 Sargent catalog. All screws and the ball turn freely. The vise jaws close from the outside tips towards the middle to firmly grip the saw.

Long time hobby woodworker. Most of that has been as a power tool user but in the last several years I've taken up hand tools and love it. Also found that I really like putting old iron back into service.
