Stunning vase! Most likely origin is with Hortensja glass of Poland because the Sklo Union vase has sloped rim to the corners, and Kosta Boda examples have fewer and larger bubbles. The Hortensja Household Glassworks opened ini Piotrkow in 1889, and went through several changes of ownership. The factory produced light fixtures and household decor, but ceased production during WWI. Between the wars the company expanded to 500 employees, but the factory fell to German administration during WWII. During the communist years production was phenomenal, but political and economic changes in the 1990s spelled the end of the company. Though this vase has no attribution to a specific designer, many famous designers began their careers there before moving to other famous European glassmakers such as Kosta Bode, Sklo Union, Orrefors, WMF and more. This glorious clear glass vase measures 7" high, and 3" square to the opening. The bubbles are set into a frosted exterior, with polished bevelled corners. It is in pristine vintage condition, with no chips cracks or damage, and occlusions and bubbles occurring in the manufacturing process. It will be carefully packaged for shipment from a smoke free pet free home.
