Knight Toolworks Purpleheart/Ipe Coffin Smoothing Plane by Steve Knight 03/2006

Gorgeous Coffin Plane with adjustable mouth and lateral blade positioning.

Created by Steve Knight of Knight Toolworks in March, 2006. The plane is made from Purpleheart for the main body, with Ipe for the sole and wedge. Features include a 45 degree bed angle, hex wrench adjustable mouth, integrated lateral blade positioning screws, and literally the thickest blade (1/4") I've ever seen on a plane. It measures 7-1/2 inches long by 3 inches wide, with a 2 inch wide blade. The blade is shaving sharp, and the only flaw I see is a tiny chip out of the Ipe near the mouth (see pictures).

This is from my personal collection, and I hadn't planned on selling it any time soon, but have recently had a few purchases I need to cover.
