Up for sale is a vintage James Swan 1/8 inch firmer chisel, made in the USA. This is an old-stock Swan tool with the classic forged steel blade and the original handle still intact. 1920-1948
The cutting edge measures 1/8 inch, making this chisel ideal for fine joinery, cleaning out narrow dados, and precision woodworking work where a modern chisel simply won’t reach. Swan steel is well known for taking a razor-sharp edge and holding it.
Features: • Maker: James Swan Co., Seymour, Connecticut • Width: 1/8 inch • Overall length: 10 1/2" • Original handle with metal ferrule • Blade has normal age patina but no cracks or breaks • Edge will need sharpening, as with any vintage tool • Very rare in this size, especially in usable condition
James Swan tools are highly collectible and known for exceptional quality. This is a great little chisel for either a user or a collector.
Please see all photos for condition. Ships well protected and quickly.
