This was my first hand plane and I was the first owner. It was an impulse buy years ago while I was still under dark side influence - aka power tools. Honestly it just sat in a cabinet for a couple of years. Once I started for real with hand tools I did get it into good working order - eventually since this was my learning how to tune up a plane plane. Flattened, tuned, sharpened, sharpened, and sharpened again since I was really bad at it at the beginning. Hadn't found Rex's stuff yet.
It's a ShopFox 2674 jack plane. Standard number #5 size: 14" long, 2" wide iron. Has frog adjustment screw and the frog and body meet at a machined surfaces. It is a budget plane, but with it flattened/fettled and tuned it has leveled up.
See the pictures and the video. The video is it planning a very Northwest board - old growth fir with cool grain. It's only been lightly used: paint, knobs, tote are all in great shape. It's tad over 5 pounds so has some heft but still way lighter than a Lie-Nielsen. Iron only has a tiny bit of camber currently.
I admit it, I am plane collector. I have a bunch. So trying to get this to its next user. It could also be a good scrub plane but would need more camber.
Happy to answer questions.

Long time hobby woodworker. Most of that has been as a power tool user but in the last several years I've taken up hand tools and love it. Also found that I really like putting old iron back into service.
