Dunlap Block Plane, Made by Sargent for Sears

Dunlap block Plane. This one is Marked BL indicating that it was made by Sargent and I think somewhere between 1949 & 1958, but I could be wrong. The Sargent BL marks where replaced by #619 about 1958.
Dunlap was Sears top of the line hand planes (think Stanley Bailey) and replaced the Fulton line in 1939+/-. Dunlap planes where made by Sargent and Millers Falls with only a few years in the 50's made in Germany (not sure by who). Dunlap went the way of the Fulton in the early or mid 60's, I forgot now.

Retired Archaeologist now working for city of Lexington Engineering Dept. Have been a carpenter and woodworking for some time, just switched over to hand tools several years ago. But now my health has changed, I have no kids and if Gods will, will be retiring and moving to Philippines in the next 5 Years. So I am slowly selling off tools (and other things) that I know I will not be hauling across the world. When the time comes, I may sell off more, but for now all my extras or things I bought to resale need to go....Heck I may just sell it all and not touch a tool again depending on my health in 5 years....
