Diamond Edge Hand Plane #5 Type Smooth Sole Great Shape

Up for sale is a nice Diamond Edge Hand plane. This one is 14" long, like a Stanley #5 and has a smooth sole. These were made for the Shapleigh Hardware Co. out of St. Louis, probably by Sargent or Winchester. This plane has a good reputation as a solid every day user. I cleaned up the sole and it is flat and I have also sharpened the iron. This is a great plane at an affordable price.

With over 76 years of life experience and a passion for woodworking, I’ve spent decades collecting, restoring, and working with antique hand tools, mostly hand planes . I'm an Army Vet. (1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
