Not much info on Belknap Planes, Belknap/Bluegrass factory was in Louisville KY for 160 years and went out of business in the 1980's. They supplied tools to department and hardware stores.
Now since there is not much info online about this brand, I looked up the casting numbers in the body. 519-3700 is a casting number for a Fulton Block Plane Sold at sears before craftsman became the top dog. 107-16 is the casting for Sargent block planes, Sargent made Fulton tools for a while, so I wonder if Sargent was making plane bodies for Belknap?? No idea.
This maybe a frankenplane, not sure as I ahve not seen another. This came out of my "I'll keep this" box only because it was made in Kentucky, where I live.

Selling since November 2024
Retired Archaeologist now working for city of Lexington Engineering Dept. Have been a carpenter and woodworking for some time, just switched over to hand tools several years ago. But now my health has changed, I have no kids and if Gods will, will be retiring and moving to Philippines in the next 5 Years. So I am slowly selling off tools (and other things) that I know I will not be hauling across the world. When the time comes, I may sell off more, but for now all my extras or things I bought to resale need to go....Heck I may just sell it all and not touch a tool again depending on my health in 5 years....
