Similar in size to the Stanley Bailey No 5 with the same 2" iron. The body is made from a piece of steel instead of cast iron which made them much more durable against drops and other abuses. Rosewood knob and tote both in great condition - no cracks or repairs. Great 1930's user plane.

See the pictures. The S5's were all painted not japanned and someone before me repainted it. I redid the lacquer on the tote and knob and they look great. There is a tiny chip at one corner of the iron. It does not get in the way and decided to just leave it since it will go away as the iron is sharpened.
Happy to answer questions.

Long time hobby woodworker. Most of that has been as a power tool user but in the last several years I've taken up hand tools and love it. Also found that I really like putting old iron back into service.
