Up for sale is a nice Stanley #5 type 14 hand plane . Has the raised ring for the front knob, and the 1 patent date behind the frog. The Japanning was very spotty on it so I strippedd it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's original factory recipe and baked it 5 times on low heat to set the Japanning. I have also flattened the sole and sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. It has the AA sweetheart iron. As you can see it has Stanley's Alumimun tote on it . The front knob is in great shape no cracks. There are a couple of issues with the plane, both cosmic. There is a chip on the left side up by the toe. There is also a small crack on the left side just before the heal. This plane will make a great user and I have discounted the price I'm asking taking the damage into account.
