Really cool piece of WW2. The notes in Hawaii were overprinted so that if Japan took over Hawaii, the currency could be dumped and not be used to damage our economy. The note is a $1 Silver Certificate series 1935 A. This note was mounted in an old scrap book as seen by the evidence of remaining tape on 2 edges. A short snorter is a note that was signed during the war by soldiers or sailors. This note only has 1 signature. It appears to be Mel A. Stafford. Some stains. Imagine what this note saw.
