Up for sale is a nice Stanley #6 type 8 hand plane. This one has the corrugated sole and it is flat. The Japanning was very spotty on it so I stripped it off and re-Japanned it using Stanley's factory recipe and baking it 5 times on low heat. I have also sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000 and it is razor sharp. The rosewood tote and knob are crack free. The knob has some beautiful two toned stripes. The frog has the B casting mark on it and the 1 patent date on the lateral adj. lever, however the lever cap has the S casting mark usually seen on the type 7. This is typical Stanley using up old parts on newer type planes, you have to remember Stanley had nothing to do with typing these planes.
