Shirts, I have not gone very technical beyong say a uniqlo airism or heattech. Most of my stuff is just 100% cotton, and on sale lol. I'm old fashioned for tops. The best feeling ones I've had were from Gettees, those are sorta pricy though.
Reported Message
Weโve talked pants and boots, any recommendations on shirts? Have a few Nomatic Outset and love them, but looking for something a little lighter
Reported Message
Might have to get a pair, they look nice. I just broke in the Thursdays I got, Iโm dying for a second pair of boots

Howโs the sizing? Iโm an E, which makes it hard to find stuff that isnโt tight but also not mega wide
I'm a 9.5 EEE brannock, and the b-stock I got was a 9.5EE. It fits just fine. I figure their regular size (at least for the heritage, I think the normal nomad is a little thinner) is probably ok for an E. I emailed them and they said they will offer wider sizes later in the year, but you may be alright now.

Yep! I fell in love with the Casa Motos but their sizing advice online wasnโt matching up for me. Even at the store they had basically no EE with stuff, so it wasnโt very helpful, but the staff was super friendly
Got the Dievier boots in today, I never had a wedge sole before. Real soft like a tall sneaker. This is a good cheaper alternative to a Thorogood I guess. I got a b-stock, since its the only ones that were my size and I wanted to try it out. Still prob about 5-6 weeks out from the Urban wolf club.

Hey I live in chicago, did you go to the wicker park store? I got some thursday legends last year. I wear a EEE wide so my selection is limited. I'll probably get the Urban wolves in 6-7 weeks, so I'll let you know then. I had them make the the Remingtons which sort of look like Timberlands.

I just went on a boot adventure too. Fell in love with a pair of Thursdays but couldnโt get the sizing right, so I took a weekend mini vacation to Chicago to go to one of their stores two weekends back

From bags, to outerwear and shoes again lol. Just pulled the trigger on some custom boots by a company called urban wolf club. Price is good for this sort of thing so I can't resist. Also taking a shot on a b stock pair from another mexican made brand called Dievier. I got back into some heavier selvedge jeans again and the cut is a little wider so my old 990 sneakers are just too wimpy, sorta need some chunkier boots to match.
Let me know what you think of the urban wolves. Which model did you order? I was just looking at their site and was interested in the Colts

So I've been on the lookout for a black or grey trucker jacket that wasn't a type III (since i have a couple of those in other colors already), and came across this. I'm so tempted but owning a few other waxed canvas jackets and bags, I'm not sure I want unlined waxed canvas on my skin lol. Its a looker though.

If you like USA made clothing, I have a shortlist now of companies I like: Gettees (mid-weight sweats, heavy Ts), Devium (heavy sweats, heritage type clothing), Goodwear (heavy Ts, sweats, 100% cotton), Camber (like champion but usa made, reverse weave sweats), Bayside (basics) and LA apparal (basically a clone of American Apparal, same founder). Goodwear, Bayside, and LA Apparal are all vertically integrated and make their own cloth in house for use in their garments (I like that). Devium is a lot like Origin or American Giant, but has its own style, but they are good with sourcing everything domestically. Gettees is a smaller operation in Detroit, similar to Dearborn denim, but focusing on shirts rather than pants. There is a bunch more USA made companies that are specialize in various things, like workwear or denim, but these are like my go-to for normal things.

I got a couple origin jeans, the factory pants from when they first started, fairly heavy for stretch denim (like 12oz I think). Not bad if you like a more substantial weight. And at that last sale I decided to grab a pair of their delta jeans, those are really stretchy and light, I'll use it more in the summer. Yeah I like they do little design details that are original. But Dearborn Denim (in Chicago) is my go to for everyday jeans, just comfy and dialed in. I sorta wanna try origins sweats, but I've bought so many sweatsuits lately and I'm trying to stick to 100% cotton, they do a blend. I lost like 40lbs a two years ago and all my clothes are big, so I've been getting stuff in the new size, but only when there are sales lol.
I have the Deltas as well, and am considering the sweats as I do not have any. Good job, I'm trying to lose weight now so I'm holding off on buying more stuff for the moment.

Origin had a killer Black Friday sale so I splurged on my first pairs of jeans and shorts from them. Excellent quality, I highly recommend. I'm tempted to get a pair of their boots and a couple pairs of their MOAB pants.

Just got my first Selvedge Denim jeans after taking a break for 7 years (I used to collect this stuff). I found my old heavyweight jeans were way better at blocking the cold winter wind. My previous heaviest jeans were 14oz. (most modern stretch/dept store jeans are 10oz or less), those are pretty good against wind. These new pants are 18oz, they can almost stand by themselves. Lol they will be fun to break in.

in eCommerce it is always the hardest part. Logistics companies have very difficult jobs with very low margins and high turnover, so consumer brands are always disappointed with their performance. Taking it in-house is another option but so complex. Learning all about this now, its not easy haha

As I write this, weโre frantically packing boxes and pallets and loading trucks to move all of our inventory back to California. Some of you have already experienced delays in shipping, due to the issues weโve been experiencing at our 3PL over the past months. For this, I am very sorry. As a brand who prides itself on giving its customers an outstanding product and experience, this has been incredibly humbling. Giving up control of partof your small business that youโre passionate about to a company that, turnsout, does not share your values has been a hard lesson.
Reported Message
Hey there,
Iโm writing this message to you from our warehouse in Texas. About a year and a half ago we made the decision to transition from doing all of our warehousing and fulfillment in house to using a third party logistics (3PL) company. We were quickly outgrowing our little warehouse in Ventura, CA and our small team was absolutely maxed out. The intent in moving was that weโd be able to lean on an expert, operator partner to manage the backend logistics of our brand (shipping and fulfillment), while we focus on whatweโre best at โ product design and development. Well, Iโm here to tell you that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. After almost eighteen months of struggling with our 3PL to perform and ship our orders in full or on time, we flew out to Texas this week to pull the plug. Turns out this 3PL was a house of cards that finally collapsed, leaving Iron & Resin and their other brands scrambling to rescue their inventory and find new homes.
Reported Message
So I have been on a bit of clothing buying spree this winter, to take a break from buying bags (which were a break from buying watches and stereo equipment). I had signed up for a ton of mailing lists to get intro coupon codes, but got an email today from the Iron and Resin brand which reminds me of what Western Rise was going through. 3rd party logistics doesn't always work out it seems. I wonder how many companies we see with customer service complaints are actually problems with logistics services.

Not really sure where to ask this, but does anyone have any suggestions for something to carry my daily medication (pills) in? Both for my pockets and backpack depending on the day? I just got prescribed daily meds that Iโll need to take mid-day and Iโm not sure the best way to carry meds. I know they make cheap pill holders and organizers but wondering if anyone has specific recommendations.
Ikigai cases are awesome, theyโre expensive but itโll be the last pill case youโll ever buy. Wonโt spill in your bag, easy to open and you can get them engraved if you want to customize them.
