Vintage Watkins Perfumer - Mary King After Bath Powder Round Tin (V021)

This is an old and empty Mary King Perfumer After Bath Powder tin from Watkins made in the 1930’s. The uncommonly found tin previously belonged to my father, who sold Watkins products in the sixties, seventies and eighties and loved to collect their old tins, bottles and books. The very colorful lid features a woman holding a parasol. The tin has minor scratches and rust but is in good overall condition for its age.

The J.R. Watkins Company was founded in 1868 and today continues to sell household products (home and health remedies as well as baking products). Many people still remember the Watkins man who came door to door in a horse-drawn wagon traveling around the countryside many decades ago.
