Up for sale is a nice Stanley #5 type 11 hand plane. This one has a corrugated sole. I will a lot of times re-Japan the plane, but this one is about 99% their so I left it alone. I have lapped the sole and it is flat. I have sharpened the iron going through the grits up to 8000. The plane shows it's beautiful dark rosewood handle and knob. The tote has a nicely repaired crack that you would see if I hadn't mentioned it. The knob has a couple of hair line cracks at the base that don't go up very far. The plane has the V logo iron and it is 7 3/8 inches long, which is about what they are from the factory. There is a fairly large chip out of the lever cap, shouldn't hurt the performance of the plane, but doesn't look good. All in all pretty nice 100+ year old plane

(1967-1969) and married with 2 children. I'm also a avid gardener. I have a degree in Forestry from S.I.U. although I only worked in the industry for 6 weeks. I'm retired from the coal mines and also the Post Office. I live in Southern Illinois near Carbondale. I love to hunt and fish. I live on 30 with a 9 acre strip mine lake in front of the house. My work shop includes a Delta Unisaw , a Grizzley 17" band saw and a DeWalt 735 planer. I have many hand planes including a very nice Stanley #2 type 7
