Original oak frame. Undated. Unsigned.This portrait was originally an ink image on canvas (see the last picture to see what it looked like before the restoration) and may have been a commercial chromolithograph. It originally had 2 or 3 tears in the canvas and a medium amount of dirt had deposited onto the canvas. During the restoration, the canvas was repaired and restrung, the frame was cleaned and made more sturdy (see the back). In addition, the canvas was cleaned. During the cleaning of the canvas some of the ink was inadvertently removed, therefore the restorer used tint to handpaint the image. Frame is made of oak and has wear and damage as would expect for a frame of that age. Size: 21 by 15 inches overall. The image size is 17 1/2 by 11 1/2 inches.
