Would anyone be interested in co-hosting some Jewelry raid trains with me? Does anyone know if we can host raid trains here on NixNax specifically for jewelry sellers???
You definitely can host a jewelry raid train. Just email Christina to work out a day - christina@niknax.net

Some of them are so pretty, it’s easy to get lured in by it.

Not sure I have the right channel...but I wondered if any of you have seen this marking before? It is only marked on the back on one of the earrings! I can't find another one online. Any thoughts? Thanks. Dolores

I have tons of handmade earrings. Who would be interested? I also have a few handmade keychains and bracelets made. If anyone is interested I could schedule a live this weekend for it or add them to buy it now’s as I have tons.

That's how I ship my jewelry too. I put it in a small gift box, slip it in a padded envelope and mail it out with a "do not bend" sticker on front and back.

The USPS flat rate boxes will cost your buyers more than ground or regular priority. The only way they’ll save them money is if you’re shipping a lot of very heavy jewelry in one box.
These are also good to ship jewelry. They’re very sturdy and i have shipped very heavy and bundles of heavy jewelry without any issues. They’re large bubble mailers and shipping is cheaper.
Reported Message
I get my flat rate boxes for free through the USPS. I’m just wondering if other jewelry sellers use the flat boxes and then what price do they set?

I wish we could take advantage of using priority and flat rate boxes...but ground is always cheaper. Boxes are so expensive to buy and take up so much room to hoard.

I recently got tons of flat rate boxes from the post office. What has been the best flat rate price to do for vintage jewelry shows? Would love other’s insight 😊

Beggar beads are large, irregular, semi-precious beads that were traditionally worn by beggars on necklaces. The beads were often made of agate or quartz, and were thought to bring wealth. They were popular with hippies in the 1960s and 1970s.

“Far Fetched jewelry is artisan jewelry from Far Fetched Imports, which Richard Wolf in the 1980s founded. In the seventies, Richard Wolf was only a student at Sonoma State University when he came up with the idea of “traveling far and fetching the unusual and upbeat.” This led him to the Guerrero state in Mexico – to the villages in Taxco (Taxco de Alarcon).
For over 30 years Far Fetched has been known for designing fun, creative and heartfelt jewelry, rich in culture and craft. They are committed to using conscientious business practices, and their intention is simple: be a positive influence in our world! Far Fetched is located in Sonoma County, California, where the vineyards meet the coastal redwoods. Their designs are produced by skilled artisans at Cuervo Metal, their sister company, in a cottage industry setting in the same community in Mexico in which they have been located for over 30 years. Each piece of jewelry starts with an emotion, a silly joke, an experience. Each piece has its own story”

Amy, those are called glue on bails and you can buy them in lots of styles to attach to stones, glass, etc. I would think this is made by a fused glass artist and was more handmade than mass produced.
Thank you!

Question for my glass pendant friends…. I’m trying to educate myself more and stuck when it comes to glass pendants with a metal loop attached. Most of the glass pendants I see on those cheap sites don’t have this type of metal clasp (if that’s what you call it🤪). This piece is also signed which obviously tells me it’s not from any of those sites. But I have other glass pendants that aren’t signed but have the same metal clasp/loop. Do I assume this type is handmade and not Chinese import?

To me, that brooch does look older. The construction looks mid range since the rhinestones appear to be glued in and not prong set. If that’s the case, I wouldn’t spend too much time trying to find the maker, especially since the only other examples of it online don’t have it identified either.

Hi kids!! Wondering if someone can help me with this piece. I purchased a huge vintage jewelry lot and have been able to identify every piece except this one. No markings. And when I google image search, it shows me 2 listings..... one from Etsy and one from 1st Dibs. I want to make sure this isn't one of those "you can't buy this on NN" items. I figured since 1st Dibs had it on their site it was legit (They offer authenticity guarantees). I'm not looking for a value, just want to know if it's legit and if someone knows who made it. Thanks everyone. Happy New Year!!
Beautiful brooch, Amy! I wouldn’t put too much faith in 1st Dibs. A lot of the stuff there is misidentified and overpriced.

Hi! I went shopping for brooches today and came across some amazing marked brooches and some beautiful unmarked ones. I am trying to be extra careful as I am newer to jewelery and learning. I want to offer the best that I can find....what are your thoughts on this one? Vintage or contemporary. It is so HARD!

‘Twas the night before Christmas and all thru the house Every creature was stirring, even the damascene mouse. The stockings were strung on the chimney with strings Made of necklaces, brooches and big blingy rings The grandkids all gathered, snug in their cushion fort Fighting over the smartphone lightning cord port Adored in her flannel shirt and John in his jams Had just settled in the playroom to sort thru some glam glams When there in the box arose such a clanger As Adored scooped out an absolute banger Off to the junk drawer she was back in a min With thimbles so they wouldn’t get poked with a pin They dug out some flowers and plucked out a bow They pulled out the black light to see what would glow And the shine from the ring light lit up the bin And gave sparkle to all of the baubles within Then what to their wondering eyes would appear Hallmark’s Santa brooch with one of his reindeer With a little screwdriver and a flick of the wrist John changed out it’s battery and crossed it off his list And then they went thru them like it was a game All the brooches and bangles sorted by name Here’s Coro and Sarah and Kenneth j Lane The Ciners, the Monet, Napier and D’Orlan Then onto the playroom table, so nicely displayed While Adored hid the receipt for how much she paid John knew what it was but said not a word Instead he handed her one last rhinestone bird And laying his hands beside him he pushed himself up While gathering in his arms their sweet Pip the pup Then they sat by the fire all toasty and hot He in his chair, Adored in her favorite spot And he smiled at his Mrs. because he knew She was ready for another show with her crew Merry Christmas to all and to all a bling night
