Hey Casper I just replied in the ask Jake channel. I also have a subscriber chat channel where we can go into more depth to discuss LEGO investing if interested

Question for investors who invest in the theme: would you guys recommend investing in the Monkie Kid theme?
I have 3 Monkie Kid sets that retired in 2022 and 2 sets that retired in 2023. The 2022 ones haven't done that great. I've got 2 of them listed here (The Bone Demon and Legendary Fruit Mountain). The Bone Demon has performed better than the Legendary Fruit Mountain. The other one from 2022 is not doing good at all (Secret Team HQ boat), but at least I got some GWPs when I bought it, so that is going to make up for it. From 2023, the Heavenly Realms has done very well (I also have mine listed here). The other one from 2023 I have is the Evil Macaque, which I think is off to an okay start. They also seem to be slow sellers. I listed the Heavenly Realms set here and on Ebay some time ago and it still hasn't sold and only has a few views. I've only recently listed 2 of my 2022 retired sets. They haven't sold yet either, but I've had them listed for only a very short time. I would only recommend if you sell on Amazon, and even then, maybe FBM instead of FBA to avoid storage fees piling up.

Aaron we would love to have you start selling go ahead and apply! And I can help talk you through any questions
Ok I applied. Looking forward to learning

I’m new here. I have been accumulating sets that I’ve bought on clearance and waiting for them to retire to sell. I just listed my first set on Facebook Marketplace. I’m tracking my collection using Brickeconomy. Should I go ahead and apply to sell in this district, or should I get some experience selling first?

Hey Eric! I may be interested in some of those city sets if you want to shoot me a dm
Reported Message
I would say that city sets are slow sellers but anything sells at the right price!

@jakesbricks Used complete sets

Is it worth it to sell sets (majority being Lego City) that are less than $100 MSRP individually here? I only have a handful of sets that are north of that mark and am just looking to sell my collection that I have, not looking to make this a business per se
@setsbyeric are they new in box? Used complete?

I agree with Grant! I typically toss boxes on used sets under $100 MSRP

For resale, what is the consensus on box keeping. Better to keep it opened at one end or flattened?
In my experience, even if the box is flattened, its still better to have one than not for the more sought after items, just a pain to ship lol

I do buy bulk with instructions and then rebuild and resell - it’s time consuming but fun without buying boxed sets I always break it down again and rebag where possible to match the instructions as if it was a new set
That’s exactly what I am thinking of doing. I think it’s so much more attractive for builders such as you and I. I have found it is great to save money when I have bought some bigger sets bigger sets but man is it a whole different experience compared to NSIB. I think want to make it possible for people to get a good set, retired, for a little more, but also get the ease of NSIB. I think the LEGO group has made their bread and butter on that principle actually. No harm in imitation of the greatest selling toy in history! There’s room for the hard working folks—hope ya don’t feel like competition now?

Any rumors on The Sanctum Sanctorum going on sale any time soon ?? I’m looking to picking up 2-3

Trades can work if you have a neutral party. Both ship to him and than he ships to the other party. Obviously has to be someone trustworthy. Just send a second shipping label in the box for its final destination. I’ve done this in the snkr world
I would be more than willing to be the middle man for trades inside the district as well! Great suggestion Matt

@jakesbricks how do trades work? For example, I have set 10306 (Atari console) and I don’t want it. However, I’ll be open to trade for any other set that fits my interests?
Hmmm… haven’t worked on trades inside here yet. I would say the best bet would be to list both items for sale inside of district and then each of you purchase each other‘s respective items so that you have security if someone doesn’t ship their item.

Absolutely! Just make sure description is clear on completeness and what is included. You can also ask any other questions like this in the #sellerchat channel once you have applied to sell

What is the benefit of selling under your district or applying to sell with district directly? Exposure is the big one I’m sure!
Ya that’s the biggest one. You get exposure from my social media platforms. I can also offer discounts on selling fees for anyone that sells in my district. Which I can work out on a case by case basis.

Similar to eBay but district doesn’t charge fees on shipping or sales tax.
