I have been a woodworker for over 50 years and built my first piece at 11 and now over 300 hundred pieces. My first shop consisted of a hand saw, coping saw, hand plane, hammer, tape measure, sanding block, drill and a few other junk tools. I taught myself how to cut various dovetails, finger joints and the like with the most rudimentary hand tools. I stayed at it my entire life and as time passed my tool collection and skills got bigger.
