This is a gorgeous glass donkey sculpture made by the Cenedese furnace of Murano. I have confirmed this through my research and verifying on the Murano Glass/Italian Glass Facebook group. To read a little more about the history of Murano and the Cenedese furnace, founded by Gino Cenedese in 1946, please see this article: https://www.bonhams.com/magazine/26794/
This Cenedese donkey features a body of that shifts in color from yellow, to green, to blue. The hooves, tail, mane, and ears feature the aventurina (or aventurine) technique of encasing gold flecks in translucent glass. It’s approximately 4.5” long, 2.5” wide, and 5.5” tall. No chips or cracks. One popped bubble on front right leg (last photo) that left a small hole. The end of the tail feels rough, but doesn’t appear broken, I think it’s from being clipped from the glass rod during production.
