11” tall and 8” wide. This is an antique French or Spanish glazed terracotta oil jar, also known as an olive jar or pitcher. These jars were used to store and transport oil, water, or wine. They were common throughout Southern France until the early 20th century. The glaze and wear marks are a natural patina developed over time, enhancing its rustic appearance. Similar items can date from the late 19th or early 20th century. Note: bottom lip is chipped however this is considered by most collectors as mark of authenticity
