I found this thread caddy/holder stored among other sewing items at my dad's house (pet and smoke free) after he passed away in 2002. I believe it came from my great aunt's house.
The caddy is made of hard plastic and may be bakelite but I don't know enough about it to test it. I've seen these listed as Bakelite and AI says it may be. It has some spools of thread in it but I sorted out other thread I found and filled it similar vintage wooden spools of various colored thread. All spools are the same size and all are J&P Coats. Some appear to be unused but most have had some thread removed. Most are labeled boil-fast cotton. Please see pictures for variations. Some are not labeled on the opposite end and some are different thread weights. Please see pictures.
The caddy is about 3.5 inches high when included the knob on top. It is about 3.5 inches in diameter.
It still has the JJ Newberry tag on the bottom!

Selling since November 2023
I'm a retired teacher trying to clean out my house of all the stuff accumulated from four generations of my family. My goal in life is to not leave a mess for my family to clean up after I die! I've sold on other platforms for a few years now, but after watching Joselyn's videos I decided to try NikNax. I love to see thrifting videos since I've always shopped at thrift stores, passing on that love to my daughter. I also love to see what others have to sell and have been known to buy some things that I just can't pass up, of course adding to more "stuff."
All of my items come from a smoke-free home. We have one cat that I try to keep away from things that I'm selling, especially clothing or other items that could collect cat dander.
