VTG HAND CARVED SAWASDEE 15.25" WELCOME STATUE THAI LADY W/ PRAYING HANDS

This hand carved wooden statue is a Sawasdee Welcome statue. Based on research, I believe the wood is teakwood and this statue was made in Thailand. There are no markings or stickers. Sawasdee can be translated to "Welcome" in English. The folded hands of the lady represent the typical "Wai" greeting which is used throughout Asia as a welcome gesture. Many Thai households have these statues at their front door to welcome guests. This statuette is 15.25" tall and measures 2.25"x2.25". She is in great condition. There are no cracks, breaks, chips or repairs. (See photos). There are some wear marks and the wood is dry from age. I did not use any oils or polishes as I understand that is reserved for the household she welcomes.
