REVIEWED: Vintage Timex Datalink Watch
Very rare co branded 'intel' model (most were branded either 'ironman or 'Microsoft').
This is an excellent example of a slightly worn Datalink watch from the late 1990s. the screen has some swirling. The YouTube review covers in-depth.
The Timex Datalink is a line of wristwatches produced by Timex in collaboration with Microsoft. One of the notable models is the Timex Datalink 150, which was introduced in the mid-1990s. The distinctive feature of these watches is their ability to receive data from a computer via a special optical sensor.
The watch's display is capable of presenting simple data, such as phone numbers, appointments, and reminders. Users could transfer information from their computer to the watch by holding it up to the computer monitor. This was achieved through a technology called "Data Link," using a series of flashing patterns on the screen that the watch could interpret. While the Timex Datalink watches were innovative for their time, they belong to an earlier era of smartwatches and are not as advanced as contemporary smartwatches that offer more extensive features and connectivity options. This requires an old CRT monitor to sync hwever all the time setting features can be accessed from the watch, you don't need a computer to set the watch functions.
