Let’s take a moment to celebrate the incredible life and legacy of Jane Fauntz—a woman who truly did it all. Before she ever touched clay, Jane made waves (literally!) as a world-class swimmer and diver. She won a bronze medal in springboard diving at the 1932 Olympics, representing the U.S. with grace and grit. Not only was she a fierce athlete, she also broke barriers—becoming one of the first female athletes to appear on a Wheaties box!But Jane didn’t stop there. After the spotlight of sports, she found her creative voice in the world of art. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, where she honed her skills as a painter and sculptor. Eventually, she fell in love with pottery—and the rest is history. Her ceramics from the 1940s and ’50s are deeply collectible today. Full of personality, whimsy, and unmistakable craftsmanship, her pieces often feature stylized animals, sleek lines, and that dreamy mid-century aesthetic we adore. Each one feels like a window into her brilliant, multifaceted life.Jane Fauntz wasn’t just one thing—she was an Olympian, an artist, a pioneer, and a woman who followed her passions fearlessly. If you have one of her pieces in your collection, you hold a little piece of her story. Her pieces are hard to find. I'm blessed to have my mom's first pieces from her collection. The only one I've ever found in my hunts is the little baby. Some of my very favorite things!

What a fun find!! I used to fill little jars of buttons to sell. I collected small jam/mason jars, added some vintage fabric to the lid and some old lace wrapped around the jar. I would just fill the jar with a random assortment of buttons. They were fun to do and helped me use some of my vintage craft stash, lol.
Yes what 2 Dizzy Cats said! Also a couple button stashes I have sorted by color and/or style and put into smallish baggies to sell (a good TV activity). That might be a fun way to sell them on live shows.

My mom has quite the collection of buttons on her hutch, I think we have some pickle jars and glass mayo jars filled. They are a lot of fun to display and craft with!
