HISTORY: Colony Glass is a brand associated with Indiana Glass Company, a prominent American glassmaker that operated from the late 19th century through the 20th century. The company, based in Dunkirk, Indiana, was well-known for producing high-quality glassware, including tableware, decorative items, and more, for both everyday use and collectible purposes.

The Indiana Glass Company was founded in 1896 and produced a wide range of pressed and blown glass items. The Colony Glass line was introduced in the 1950s becoming a distinct product line emphasizing decorative and elegant designs that appealed to mid-century consumers.

By the 1970s and 1980s, competition from cheaper imported glass and changing consumer tastes led to financial struggles for Indiana Glass and a decline in demand for Colony Glass products. Indiana Glass eventually ceased operations in 2002, marking the end of the Colony Glass line.
