A vintage Peruvian carved gourd. Might be a monkey, but not sure. It has a rod in it that allows the gourd to go up and it also has something inside so that when you shake it, it makes noise, almost like a maraca. 
It is in good condition.
Please look at pictures, I have tape measure to show size. 
The 1" number is gone on my tape measure so I always start at the 2" mark
