Vintage MCM 15” Lorraine Oxblood Sommerso Twist Four Toed Six Fingered Vase

This is a vintage hand blown and stretched glass from the 60’s-70’s. One of the Lorraine specific elements would be a single indentations on each toe of the base & twist on the base/body of a vase. This vase exhibits a classic “U-push" as this process leaves behind a “U” mark in the glass (see photo below). These indentations on the toes are unique to Lorraine. Lorraine also used U-pushes on the body of their glass as design elements, which can be observed in this vase as you follow the indent lines up into the body of the twist they are clearly evident. Lorraine is also notable for deep colour saturation as seen in this oxblood red Sommerso vase. Vase is in very good vintage condition with no evidence of chips or cracks. It measures approximately 15” tall x 5.5” wide at the six fingered mouth. The four toes are very pronounced. I’ve included two photos from a Lorraine reference site to illustrate the unique features of this vase.
