Details
A decorative bowl featuring a distinctive ruffled, free-form edge and a grey body with a subtle lustrous glaze. The bowl is hand-painted in the center with a floral design (likely an Iris) and accented with heavy, raised gold gilt on the rim. The underside is marked with the handwritten model number "6265" and the country of origin "ITALY". This type of bowl was very popular for use as a candy dish or table centerpiece in the mid-20th century. The ceramics were often created in major Italian pottery districts like Deruta, Nove, or Florence. The bowl is approx. 5.5" and does have 2 fleabites on the top gold edge but do not effect its use or detract from the design.

Hello, my name is Judy and I love all things MCM. I'm excited to share my vintage and unique finds from glass paperweights, art glass vases and pottery to fun figurines in ceramic, porcelain, and glass. When I'm not searching for the next great piece, I love spending time with my wonderful hubby, Chip and our dog, Oliver, or getting creative with my scrapbooking projects.
